What is Photo Sharing "Friction"?

In user experience design, "friction" is anything that prevents a user from completing a desired action. When it comes to weddings and events, your desired action is for guests to send you the photos they took. Friction is asking them to download a specific app, remember a complicated hashtag, or figure out how to join a shared iCloud album if they don't have an iPhone.
